Privacy Policy

GAMESWA records amateur sport and turns it into highlights, stats, and profiles that belong to the players who earned them. Doing that well requires handling some of your information, and this page explains exactly what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

Information we collect

• Account & profile: your phone number (used for sign-in via one-time password), display name, and optional details you add such as city, playing role, batting/bowling style, and avatar.
• Match records: ball-by-ball scoring events, statistics, and video highlights captured at partner venues during filmed slots and tournaments. Filmed areas at partner venues are marked, and filming is part of the booked service.
• Bookings: slot, venue, date, price, and payment status for turf bookings you make. Where payment is made at the venue, we do not collect card or bank details. If online payment is introduced, it will be processed by a licensed payment provider and we will not store your full payment instrument details.
• Usage analytics: pseudonymous product analytics (screens viewed, features used, errors) that help us improve the app. Analytics identifiers are linked to your player ID, not your phone number, and we do not use cross-app tracking or sell data to advertisers.

How we use it

• To deliver your highlights and stats to you, including via WhatsApp links you or your team request.
• To operate bookings, tournaments, leaderboards, and player profiles.
• To keep the service safe, debug problems, and improve features.

We do not sell your personal information. Highlights and match statistics are sporting records: clips you share are viewable by people you share them with, and public profile pages show only what you choose to make visible.

Data sharing

We share your personal information only in the following circumstances:

• Tournament organisers: Match statistics and player handles may be shared with the tournament organiser who facilitated the event you participated in
• Turf owners: Aggregated match data (not personal contact details) may be shared with the turf owner where the match was played
• Service providers: We use Supabase (database and hosting), Vercel (web hosting), and Meta (WhatsApp delivery) as infrastructure providers. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate data processing terms
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority

WhatsApp communication

GAMESWA uses the WhatsApp Business API (Meta Cloud API) to deliver OTP verification codes and match highlight clips. By registering on our platform, you consent to receiving these messages on the WhatsApp number you provide.

You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at info@gameswa.com. Withdrawing consent will disable your ability to use WhatsApp-based features of the platform.

Players under 18

Profiles for players under 18 require verifiable consent from a parent or guardian, recorded against the profile. Guardians can contact us at any time to review or withdraw consent.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers located in the Asia-Pacific region (Mumbai, India — AWS ap-south-1). We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Row-level security policies on all database tables
• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Signed URL delivery for video content (time-limited access, expiring links)
• Access controls limiting staff access to personal data

Match highlight video clips generated by our platform are stored in cloud object storage (Supabase Storage, Asia-Pacific region). These clips are associated with your player profile and delivered to your WhatsApp number via time-limited signed URLs. Clips are not publicly accessible without an active signed link.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We will notify you of any data breach that materially affects your rights as required under applicable law.

Your rights under the DPDP Act

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable Indian law, you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements
• Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw consent to data processing at any time
• Grievance redressal: Lodge a complaint with our grievance officer (see Questions & concerns below)

Cookies and tracking

Our web platform uses Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to collect anonymised usage data, including pages visited and session duration. This helps us improve the platform experience.

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies. You can disable analytics tracking by using your browser's privacy settings or a browser extension.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account any time from the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account, or by writing to info@gameswa.com from your registered details. On deletion we remove your personal identifiers (name, phone number, email, avatar, date of birth) and disable sign-in. Ball-by-ball match records and team scorecards are retained as anonymized sporting records, no longer linked to your identity.

How long we keep information

• Account and profile data: for as long as your account is active.
• After account deletion: personal identifiers are removed immediately; anonymized match records are retained as part of tournament history.
• Session and security logs: up to 90 days.

If we make material changes, we will update this page and note the new date above. Continued use of GAMESWA after changes means you accept the updated policy.
